![]() ![]() ![]() Your decision will be based on how you want to spend your time and how many ferries you want to take. If you can clarify your route choice, there are some details that are worth knowing.Īs mentioned on your other thread, you will have 2 single nights before 2 nights in Victoria as opposed to 2 nights in Parksville/Nanaimo and 2 in Victoria. Either you are leaving your car in Victoria and walking on to the Clipper, or you are taking a car ferry either to Port Angeles or Anacortes and driving from there. You could consider one night in the Nanaimo area, then follow the Pacific Marine Circle Tour to Port Renfrew on the western side of the island for a second night and drive to Victoria via that western coastline.įinally, there is no car ferry from Victoria to Seattle. From a base in that area, you could have couple of really lovely days exploring parks of giant fir trees, waterfalls and sandy beaches before doing the drive to Victoria. Parksville/Qualicum is the usual recommendation, but not the only choice. You have to return to Horseshoe Bay) and look for something that appeals to you on that central eastern side of Vancouver Island. (Note that it is not possible to get directly to Nanaimo from the lower Sunshine Coast. If you are more of a "hub and spoke" sort of traveler, then you might cut out the Sunshine Coast and just catch a ferry from Horseshoe Bay directly to Nanaimo. If that suits you, then that would be a very nice plan. It would be very pleasant, but not much time on either day for more than a meal and a couple of road side stops. It looks like you only have four days for this, but does that include a couple of nights in Victoria? Hmm, might mean this is more of a scenic drive, with just an overnight in Powell River and about 6 hours of driving each day. I'm trying to figure out how much time you have. From there, make your way up to Powell River where you can catch the ferry to Comox for a trip back down the island to Victoria. You can easily get from Whistler down to Horseshoe Bay to get the ferry to Langdale. ![]()
